1.2 COCOONTM stabilized insulation contains a dry adhesive that is activated during installation. The product remains firmly attached to application surfaces. Applicators are specially trained and certified to install the product properly. Part 2 - Standards. 2.1 COCOONTM insulation, used as a firestop, is described in ICBO Report ER-2833, dated February, 2001. For allowable values and/or conditions of use concerning COCOONTM presented in the document, please refer to this report. The ICBO report is subject to reexamination, revision and possible cancellation. 2.2 COCOONTM has been tested for sound absorption ASTM 795, surface burning characteristic E84 and ASTM C739. Part 3 - Installation. 3.1 The INSULSTOP® method installs COCOONTM insulation, installed using a modified swivel nozzle. Access holes are created approximately 6" above, or below, the floor line for horizontal firestop and vertically at 10 OC for vertical firestop. 3.2 Before handling or installing, refer to the manufacturer's printed instructions on the bag. This application can only be made by licensed and certified installers. 3.3 All equipment must be certified by Insulstop, Inc. Injection nozzles are sold by the distributor to all installers. 3.4 Applicators will inspect the project to determine the suitability of the installation. 3.5 Applicator shall not commence work until all surrounding surfaces are masked, or covered with a drop sheet, to prevent over spray. 3.6 Drying time will depend upon thickness and temperature. The temperature should not fall below 32°F. Part 4 - Inspection. 4.1 All installations must be inspected and certified by Insulstop, Inc. or its agents.
